I use a Canon EOS R with a Sigma 50mm Macro lens for all of my photography. I typically shoot in manual mode to get the perfect photo. When shooting macro, I typically use a white foam core board to get the various angles that I need.

Camera Settings

When shooting a photo in manual mode, it is important to understand what your ISO settings are. ISO controls the amount of light that enters the camera and gets recorded by the sensor. The most common setting for this is 200; however, this is dependent on how well-lighted or shaded your subject matter is in relation to how much light you are allowing your camera sensor to capture. When you first use manual mode, it will be difficult because you have to manually adjust the ISO settings then the aperture and shutter speed based on your preferences. It requires a lot of patience and practice before you truly master manual mode.

When you are in manual mode, it is up to you to decide how much light is let into the camera by setting your aperture. The aperture controls how much light is let into the camera. It's best to set an aperture of f/2.8 or less while shooting in manual mode so that you can get the best quality images while still having some good depth of field. You also need to consider your shutter speed when making this decision so that there isn't too much motion blur depending on how fast your subject matter is moving around.

Setting an aperture of anywhere between 2 and 5 will be enough for most situations when shooting with a DSLR camera in manual mode, but these settings will depend on what type of
